Valu-Snap — Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 28, 2026

Valu-Snap is a window manager for Mac, Windows and Linux made by Daniel Holmstock. This policy explains what the app does with your information.

Mac: we collect nothing

The Mac version has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it sends nothing over the internet.

Windows & Linux: license activation only

When you activate a license, and about once a week after that, the app sends your license email, your license key, the computer's name, the operating system and the app version to Daniel Holmstock's license server (danielholmstock.com). This is used only to confirm the license and to show which computers use it. It is never sold or shared. The trial needs no internet connection at all.

What stays on your computer

To move windows, Valu-Snap reads the names, titles and positions of open windows using the macOS Accessibility permission (or the equivalent Windows and Linux features). This happens only on your computer. Your profiles and settings are kept in a local folder and never leave your computer unless you export them yourself.

Purchases

Windows and Linux licenses are ordered by email and paid directly to Daniel Holmstock; the app never handles payment. On the Mac App Store, the free trial and the one-time unlock are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details or Apple Account.

Children

Valu-Snap is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children.
